Drupal allows for the creation of lists (vocabularies) that are used to organize posted materials to make them searchable by topic. We have create separate topical directories for Blogs and the Knowledgebase Wiki. Many websites call these topical terms TAGS.
When you click on "Blogs" on the main "Site Navigation Menu"[left side of every page], you go to the site's main Blog page. All the Blog postings are listed here chronologically. The front page of the website only has the Blog postings in the last 30 days. On the right side of the "Blog" page you get the entire blog topic structure with the number of postings in each category. If you click on one of the categories you will get all the postings to that category. Blog authors can select multiple categories when publishing a post.
At the bottom of each individual Blog post the terms/tags show up as links. If you click on one of these links you will also go to all the postings in the topic.
The Knowledgebase Wiki has its own topic structure. However, the Wiki structure is a little different. When you click on "Knowledgebase Wiki" in the Site Navigation Menu, you go to what Drupal calls the "BooK" navigation page. Book pages are a separate kind of posting, and are searchable in two ways: first, you can click on one of the "Books" listed in the main content (center) of the Book navigation page, and you will be taken through the chapters and individual pages of the various books; or, you can search topically by going through the topic/tag structure on the right hand side of the Book navigation page. Book materials are also structured so that at the bottom of each Book page posting you may navigate to the next or previous posting.
Blog postings that contain information that we wish to store and retrieve on a long term basis may also be posted in the Book structure, and given Knowledgebase tags that allow them to be retrieved using the Book tags. Thus, there is a fair amount of information searchable through the KnowledgeBase Wiki tags that you cannot get to through the Book and Chapters drill down. Only postings of the type "Book Page" are searchable through the Book and Chapter structure.
Most users may simply use the Knowledgebase tag structure on the right hand side of the Book navigation page. Over time the Book and Chapter structure will become more robust as the community generates more information on sustainability practices.
