Update on Local Food Group Doings

The Local Food Movement group met briefly on October 18, 2011 at 5:00pm before the regular October PlacerSustain monthly meeting.  We took a look at the Mission/Purpose and Principles statement that is being developed for the Placer County Economic Development Collaborative as an example of the type of material that we may develop for the Local Food (including Wellness) Movement effort. [The ED Collaborative material will be published shortly]

Notes on First Loomis Shed to Shed Energy Initiative Coordinating Meeting

PlacerSustain has entered into a cooperative agreement with the Town of Loomis to faciliate a focused energy conservation and renewable energy initiative in the Shed to Shed area of Downtown for business and property owners that are adjacent to the railroad rights of way.  This effort is intended to assist owners to take advantage of the federal Section 1603 30% reimbursement on solar projects.  To be eligible, the projects must have commenced construction before December 31, 2011.  The initiative also involves the pursuit of the Town's own solar project opportunities.
