Co-ops Can Strengthen the Placer County Economy and Empower Communities

The US has followed the United Nations in declaring 2012 the "Year of the Cooperatives."  Over 950 Cooperatives are operating in California.  They are small, with just a few members, to huge, with hundreds of thousands of members.  They range from worker-owned bicycle repairs shops to limited equity housing co-ops.
