PlacerSustain: Voices of Placer County's Sustainability Community

On November 15, 2011 we convened a PlacerSustain monthly forum on the topic of "Local Food and Wellness."  Notes on that meeting have been published on the PlacerSustain website.  There was a consensus that the group needed to move forward on the start of a Mission Statement, Vision, Goals--i.e. to define an identity.  A group of participants from the November 15, 2011 meeting consisting of:  Joe Looney, Julie Guagliardo, Jeanie Bardakjian, Ryan Lanzarotta, Hillary Marrs, Kathryn MacRoberts, and Jeff Bordelon met to work on the Mission Statement.  One outcome, at least for now, the group elected to adopt the name "Placer Local Food Alliance." It is the general intention that the Alliance help bring together all the various community interests that have a stake in our food future in a cooperative network, sharing information, and working together strategically.  Notes on the meeting have been prepared by Jeanie Bardakjian--see this link.  More will be coming.
