How can the Community Support Local Educational Institutions and Youth?
The financial resources of public education are diminishing and it is likely that we will be experiencing long term funding constraints. In order for our K-12 and Higher Education institutions to continue to serve, and expand services in needed areas (e.g. green technology and sustainability career training), more support from the Community is necessary. What type of educational needs are likely to get more support? What support can be provided from the community that is not about money, e.g. bringing in community experts and employers to interact with students? What can the educational institutions do to get more public involvement in educational issues?
